CAROLYN YOSHIHARA, PMP, MBA
Carolyn Yoshihara, PMP, managed a Project Office for an international financial
institution. She effectively managed a team of project managers whose
responsibilities include project management, consulting, and process re-engineering. Carolyn
currently manages a team of systems project managers for a financial
institution. Carolyn is a project management instructor at JAIMS and has experience
in project management, management consulting, service quality, process re-engineering,
residential loan production, appraisal and finance administration.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Beloit College, and a Masters of Business
Administration from the University of Hawaii.
Carolyn is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project
Management Institute (PMI).
ROY UEMURA, PMP, P.E., MBA
Roy Uemura, PMP, is a Project Management Consultant with a major engineering
management company. Prior to that Roy was with a large utility company
where he was successful as a Project Manager in power plant, alternate energy,
electrical transmission and distribution systems, and telecommunications projects. Roy
managed military construction projects for several years while serving in the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon
State University and is a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Hawaii. He
also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Chaminade University of
Honolulu.
Roy is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management
Institute (PMI).
ALAN YAMASHIRO, PMP, MBA
Alan Yamashiro, PMP, managed a Project Management Office for an international
financial institution. He is currently the President of Project Management
Institute Honolulu Chapter, Inc. and a project manager for a large systems
implementation with a local health care organization. Alan has excelled
as a Project Manager for large information systems projects in banking, applications,
telecommunications, mortgage banking, trust, real estate management and other
financial management systems. Alan has also developed and managed a
project portfolio prioritization and selection methodology for multi-million
dollar budgets.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Colorado State University,
a Mortgage Banking Certificate from Mortgage Banker's Association, Management
Skills and Theory Diploma from American Institute of Banking, and a Masters
of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii.
Alan is a trained facilitator and certified as a Project Management Professional
(PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
KUÕUIPO LAUMATIA, PMP, MBA
Ku'uipo Laumatia, PMP, is currently Director of Project and Business
management in an Information Technology and Services Department having
recently established a Project Management Office. She supervises program
and project managers responsible for information systems, e-business,
telecommunications, and business management projects. Her primary project
experience has been in education, training, information systems and
telecommunications.
Ku'uipo has developed project management curriculum for several
organizations and academic institutions and is currently teaching graduate
project management courses at Hawaii Pacific University.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Computer
Science from Brigham Young University-Hawaii, a Masters of Business
Administration (emphasis in Human Resources Management) from Hawaii Pacific University,
and is a certified FranklinCovey facilitator.
