CAROLYN YOSHIHARA, PMP, MBA
Carolyn Yoshihara, PMP, is currently a manager in trust operations of a Hawaii financial institution. 
In this capacity, she trains and mentors team leads in project management. Carolyn was a project 
management instructor at Japan America Institute for Management Science and at CTA as a certified 
Boston College project management trainer. Carolyn was previously a manager of Project Office for 
a financial institution where she supervised a team of project managers responsible for implementing 
major, strategic information technology projects for the organization. In her capacity as a Project 
Manager, Carolyn has managed both information technology projects, such as the implementation of a 
new retail bank platform system and a new Human Resource information system, and non-IT projects 
such as new product development for Mortgage Banking. She has experience in project management, 
management consulting, service quality, process re-engineering, residential loan production, appraisal 
and finance administration.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Beloit College, and a Masters of Business
Administration from the University of Hawaii.
Carolyn is a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI). She has served several years on the Board for the PMI Honolulu Chapter.ROY UEMURA, PMP, P.E., MBA
Roy Uemura, PMP, is currently a Project Management Consultant working for a project 
management/engineering firm. Roy was with a large utility company where he managed integrated  
resource planning for the company and managed the design and construction of power plants, alternate 
energy, electrical transmission and distribution systems, and telecommunications projects. One of his 
projects was awarded the “Project of the Year 2000 for Structures Costing Over $10 Million” by the 
American Public Works Association of Hawaii.
Roy managed military construction projects for several years while serving in the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon
State University and is a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Hawaii. He
also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Chaminade University of
Honolulu.
Roy is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management
Institute (PMI). He has served several years on the Board of the PMI Honolulu Chapter and is currently
the Director of Programs.
ALAN YAMASHIRO, PMP, MBA
Alan Yamashiro, PMP, is a project management consultant and trainer for Project Professionals, LLC. 
As a consultant, Alan has helped clients managed complex projects in healthcare and educational 
institutions. He is a Past President of Project Management Institute Honolulu Chapter, Inc. Alan has 
been a Project Manager for large core information systems replacement projects and new systems 
installations in health care, banking applications, telecommunications, mortgage banking, trust, real estate 
management and other financial management systems. He has also developed a methodology and headed 
a project portfolio management department for multi-million dollar budgets.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Colorado State University,
a Mortgage Banking Certificate from Mortgage Banker's Association, Management
Skills and Theory Diploma from American Institute of Banking, and a Masters
of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii.
Alan is a trained facilitator and a Project Management Professional
(PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI). He has served several years on the Board of the PMI Honolulu Chapter
KU'UIPO LAUMATIA, MBA
Ku'uipo Laumatia, currently manages a Project Management Office at a large Hawaii financial institution.
She is a project management and business process management consultant and trainer for Project
Professionals, LLC. Ku'uipo has managed portfolios, programs, and projects in many different industries
including information systems, telecommunications, utilities, education, insurance, real estate, software
development, infrastructure, airlines, state and local governments, and various military branches.
Ku'uipo has developed project management curriculum for several organizations and academic
institutions and is an adjunct professor at Hawaii Pacific University.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Computer Science from Brigham Young
University-Hawaii, a Masters of Business Administration in Human Resources Management from Hawaii
Pacific University, and is a certified FranklinCovey facilitator.
Ku'uipo served several years on the Board of the PMI Honolulu Chapter. She is currently serving on the
Board of Directors for the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and is a temporary Board
member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). |
